Food for the mind

We are not bad and not wrong. We have only been eating the wrong food, and the mind eats through the ears, eyes and mouth.

From a daily-routine talk by BK Shivani, noted down at six in the morning.

The opening line of my notes: we are not bad, we are not wrong. We have become weak only because of the wrong diet.

The talk listed what "wrong food" means, one sense at a time:

  • Wrong listening: reels and the like, and gossip at home.
  • Wrong reading: the news.
  • Wrong watching: no TV while eating.
  • Wrong eating: as far as possible, food made at home.
  • Wrong drinking: in the kitchen, let mantras and good feelings keep going while the food is made.

Then the other half: every day, begin and end with a positive thought. One after waking up, and one before sleeping, along with the right food. The chain I wrote down was: right food, then good vibration, then good health.

I also noted the four thoughts offered as a daily resolve (sankalp):

  • I am a powerful soul.
  • I am always calm and stable.
  • I am always happy.
  • I am a soul who gives to everyone.

And a small plan from the same page: for the next 50 days, sleep at 9:30, wake in the Brahma muhurta (the quiet hours before dawn), and eat the right food. My previous vow broke on 8 October, so this is a fresh start.
