Giver, not beggar

Knowledge is a mirror, and a prince is not a beggar. Two pages of notes on being someone who gives.

October 10, 2026· 1 min read

Two notes on the same idea, one from BK Radha didi on 10 October and one from 14 October.

Knowledge is a mirror. Which beauty do I like, outer or inner? In the same way, when beauty begins to arrive inside me, people will start to like me, and I will start to remember myself more.

The lotus came up again: to live detached.

A king's son is a prince, not a beggar. So be a giver, not a taker. Rajyoga makes a worthy prince. Anger is cut with peace, with control, with knowledge. Rajyoga is being the king of my own mind.

From the 14 October page, the two kinds of beggar:

  • the one with a bowl, who is poor
  • the one with folded hands, whom my notes call a "royal beggar"
