As of this review, there are two overlapping pieces of official information about how long Indian passport holders can stay in Thailand without a visa, and we want to be transparent about that rather than pick one and hope it's right:

Before you travel, check the Royal Thai Embassy New Delhi's visa page directly (linked below) for the current status, rather than relying on the 60-day figure that is still shown elsewhere, including possibly on this page by the time you read it.
Indian ordinary passport holders currently benefit from a visa exemption for short tourism or business visits to Thailand — meaning no visa is needed at all for stays within the exempted period (60 days as of this review, transitioning toward 30 days — see notice above). For stays longer than the exemption period, or for purposes not covered by it, Indian travellers apply for the appropriate visa through Thailand's e-Visa system, which became available in India from 1 January 2025.
No visa is required for tourism or short-term business within the currently applicable exemption period (see the transition notice above for exactly how long that is right now). Outside that period, or for other purposes, a visa is required and is applied for online via the Thai e-Visa system.

Your passport should be valid for at least 6 months from your date of entry. For visa-exempt entry, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs specifies you should carry proof of adequate funds (20,000 Baht per person / 40,000 Baht per family) and be prepared to show a return or onward ticket if asked.
The entire e-Visa application is completed online through the official Thai e-Visa portal — there is no separate paper form for applicants using this system.
For e-Visa categories, expect to provide: your passport (valid 6+ months), a recent photo, evidence of funds, a travel itinerary, and category-specific documents (for example, a letter from a Thailand-based inviting organisation for MICE/business travel, or hospital documentation for medical-treatment visas). The Thai e-Visa portal specifies the exact document list once you select your visa category.
Visa-exempt entry has no visa fee. For e-Visa categories, fees vary by visa type and are non-refundable, per official Ministry of Foreign Affairs guidance — check the current fee for your specific category on thaievisa.go.th before applying, since fee schedules are not published in full on the general visa information pages reviewed for this guide.
The Royal Thai Embassy's own guidance for the e-Visa system cites approximately 14 working days of processing from the date your visa fee receipt is issued — applications are not guaranteed and may require an interview or additional documents at the Embassy/Consulate-General's discretion, per official guidance.
