Choose your route

• eVisa (recommended default): apply online at evisa.rop.gov.om before you travel — this is the confirmed, unambiguous route regardless of what other documents you hold.
• Conditional 14-day visa-free entry: only if you hold a qualifying US/UK/Schengen/Canadian/Australian/Japanese visa or residence permit — confirm current eligibility on the official portal before relying on this instead of the eVisa.
• GCC resident eVisa: if you hold a valid residence permit from a GCC country (UAE, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Kuwait, or Bahrain) with an approved profession listed on your residence card, you may qualify for a separate unsponsored eVisa route even without a matching document from the list above.

Visa requirement for an Indian passport holder

• 1-year multiple-entry eVisa (up to 30 days per visit)

Processing information

The official Visit Oman guidance states eVisas can take up to 4 days to process, and recommends applying at least 4 days before travel. Widely-reported secondary guidance suggests standard processing is often faster (1–3 working days) but recommends applying with a wider buffer, especially during peak travel seasons.

Common mistakes

• Assuming you qualify for visa-free entry without checking against the official 103-country list, which does not include India.
