Multiple independent travel-guidance sources flatly state that Indian passport holders can enter Botswana completely visa-free for 30–90 days. However, the official Government of Botswana website (gov.bw) describes a formal Visitor's Visa and Tourism Visa application process — available online via the official eVisa portal or in person at an immigration office, embassy, or consulate — for "non-citizens from countries that require a visa to enter Botswana." The gov.bw pages we reviewed did not state, one way or the other, whether India specifically sits on that visa-required list. We could not resolve this conflict from the sources available during this review.

Our recommendation: check your specific eligibility directly and for free on the official eVisa portal (evisa.gov.bw) before travelling — if you are in fact visa-exempt, the portal (or your booking process) should make that clear; if a visa is required, you'll be able to apply through the same confirmed, official channel described below. For the Visitor's Visa, additional documents may include a sworn statement/affidavit from your host, copies of marriage/birth certificates (for spouse/dependents), a certified copy of your host's national ID/residence and work permit/exemption certificate, and — for religious visits — certified copies of ordination certificates.
